Vessel Refit Management

One point of contact. Every trade coordinated. Your refit, done right.

A refit is only as good as the people running it

A vessel refit involves a long list of moving parts — haul-out and bottom work, structural and mechanical repairs, electrical upgrades, systems installations, painting, upholstery, and more. Each trade has its own schedule, its own requirements, and its own dependencies. Without a single person driving the process, jobs get missed, tradespeople clash for access, and projects run over budget and behind schedule.

Nomad Marine Solutions acts as your dedicated refit manager from first planning call through to splashdown. We've built strong relationships with the best yards, engineers, riggers, painters, and specialists across St. Maarten and the wider Caribbean — and we put those relationships to work for you.

What refit management covers

Every refit is different, but our management service typically covers:

Why work with Nomad?

Most boatowners managing a refit from overseas — or while cruising — quickly discover how much time and stress it takes to coordinate everything themselves. Chasing quotes, managing competing schedules, resolving quality disputes, and keeping a project on budget is essentially a full-time job.

When you put Nomad in charge, you get a single point of accountability. We know the yards, we know the trades, and we know what a quality refit looks like. We have no incentive to drag out timelines or inflate scopes — our reputation is built on delivering projects on time and on budget, so owners come back and refer their friends.

Caribbean-based, globally connected

We're based in St. Maarten — one of the Caribbean's premier refit destinations — with access to full-service yards, a skilled local trade base, and easy logistics for parts from the US and Europe. Whether you're planning a full systems overhaul, a cosmetic refresh, or a race-prep build, we can manage it from start to finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does refit management include?

We handle the entire project — initial vessel assessment, scope of work, budget planning, yard coordination, trade scheduling (riggers, painters, engineers, glasswork), daily site oversight, and commissioning. You get one point of contact for everything.

Do I need to be in St. Maarten during the refit?

No. Most of our clients manage their refit remotely. We provide regular communications with photos and videos so you always know exactly where your project stands. We have licensed captains who can handle moving the boat between locations and real time discussions on new additions or last minute changes.

How long does a refit take?

It depends on scope. A focused electrical and systems upgrade might take 2–4 weeks. A full cosmetic and systems refit can run 4–8 weeks. We provide a detailed timeline before work begins.
